26 is dead!

Wahooo! Mississippi has voted down the Personhood Amendment!  I am so proud!  Hopefully it will not come back again.

I started spotting again tonight.  This is so annoying and somewhat distressing.  It is kind of rust colored (not fresh) and pretty light, but it still worries me.

I was filling in a baby journal that my sweet sister sent me from Amazon as a gift and thinking to myself is it too early to start filling in this book.  And then I went to the bathroom and saw the spotting.  When am I going to be able to just relax?

  1. Yay on 26. Boo on bleeding. Try not to worry. No cramping and rust color is good, right? Xoxo

  2. Thanks for the update on the Personhood amendment. Glad to hear the proposal was defeated. I guess it's another example of the minority having a louder voice than the majority.

I don't think it's too early to start a baby book. I sort of regret not keeping one myself, but later learned there is a company that will print my blog as a book - so I think that's going to become our baby book.

Sorry to hear about the bleeding. I know it's scary, buy it's also very common. Drink lots of water and put your feet up. Now is the one time in your life it's time to "baby" yourself.

Looking forward to your next update!

  3. Yay that 26 is dead! What a ridiculous/sad/scary proposal it was!!!

Sorry you're having spotting. I know it can be so scary. Have you told your nurse/OB about it? Do they confirm it's normal?

I think I should start a book but got overwhelmed when trying to pick one out. Do you like yours? If so could you share the title? I agree it's not too early to start keeping track of this new, amazing adventure you're on :)

  4. That's a relief - that that crazy amendment is dead! I can totally understand that the spotting is scary, but I'm sure everything is fine. Sadly, I don't know that you'll ever completely relax - you've been through so much to get where you are - it's totally normal.

  7. I actually got online last night before I went to bed to make sure that amendment didn't pass. I hope other states don't try to put it on their ballots. I hope all the scares and worries pass so you can feel like a normal pregnant women. We jump through so many hurdles throughout this process it's so hard to relax. I hope your time will come soon.

  8. GREAT news on 26 - that reaffirms my faith in humanity! Sorry to hear about the spotting, that is distressing. But it's so common and things are going so well for you that it's highly doubtful anything is wrong. Although I do not blame you at all for being worried about it - I would be too! I think you should start your baby book - will give you something happy to do as the days pass...

  10. I originally posted a comment without reading your entire blog, so I deleted it and am starting over. I'm very excited for you that 26 did not pass -- what a relief. As for the spotting, I'm sure that everything is fine. Try your best to relax and take it easy (and try not to worry --easier said than done). When is your next appointment?

  11. Hi there. Politically daft Canadians like myself have no idea what 26 was....but sounds very controversial so I'll have to look it up. As for the spotting....it's normal and almost expected. As long as you have no cramps....you can relax. Some women spot all the way through. As for ideas on a baby book.....actual letters to the baby to read when they are older in a journal, "the belly book" where you take pics of your belly every week. For me that's every Saturday morning and it's been truly cool watching it grow, your blog printed out, or whatever you see fit as a memoir. It's never too early to start one...you already have an ultrasound picture right?

  12. I read about the personhood amendment being shot down and thought of you. It wasn't even close either, which is so great.
Sorry for the spotting. It's so common but that doesn't make it any less scary. Hang in there!

  13. Thanks for all the supportive comments! Spotting stopped for now. Y'all made me feel so much better about it. I think I'm just one of these women. Maybe all the progesterone suppositories. I resumed writing in the baby book today. Infertility be damned! It's not going to take the all the fun and joy out of my first trimester!
